Nimmit, a brand with a rich history dating back to 1975, began with just two handloom weavers. By 2020, they had expanded to approximately 61 looms, specializing in Kala cotton and Mashru weaving. The intricate tribal textiles are crafted using a loin-loom, a traditional back-strap loom favored by hill communities.

The weaving process involves preparing a warp of manageable length and breadth, which is then secured at one end to a house wall or fixed poles. The other end is tied to the weaver's waist with a belt made of cotton, leather, or sometimes woven from cane or bamboo.
