Expertly handcrafted by women artisans from the Batoro tribe in the remote mountains of Western Uganda, this basket is more than just a decorative piece. These skilled weavers are part of a cooperative that empowers single mothers, widows, and marginalized women, providing them with training and additional income opportunities. Each basket is made from all-natural, sustainably sourced raffia and banana fibers, ensuring an eco-friendly choice for your home.

The basket features a unique and bold mix of natural and AZO-free dyes, crafted from plant materials grown in the artisans' villages. The intricate designs are achieved by twisting and wrapping hand-dyed raffia around coils of banana fibers, showcasing the artisans' expertise. Due to its handmade nature, no two baskets are identical, offering you a truly special and unique piece. Handmade in Uganda, the basket measures approximately 8" x 11" x 3.5", making it a perfect fit for any table setting.
