Handcrafted by skilled women artisans from the Batoro tribe in the rural mountains of Western Uganda, this basket is more than just a decorative piece. These artisans are part of a cooperative that empowers single mothers, widows, and marginalized women by providing them with training and additional income opportunities. Each basket is made from all-natural, sustainably sourced raffia and banana fibers, ensuring an eco-friendly choice for your home.

The basket features a unique and bold mix of natural and AZO-free dyes. These dyes are crafted from various plant materials grown in the artisans' villages, showcasing the knowledge and skill required to produce them. The hand-dyed raffia is expertly twisted and wrapped around coils of banana fibers, creating intricate designs and a sturdy structure.

No two baskets are identical, with slight variations in size and color due to their handmade nature, making each piece special and unique. Handmade in Uganda, the approximate size of the basket is 8" x 11" x 3.5", perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any setting.
