This hand-crafted horn product is sustainably made from the horns of the Ankole-Watusi cattle, native to western Uganda and parts of East Africa. These distinctive horns are a recycled byproduct of the food industry, purchased directly from local cattle keepers, providing vital revenue to their communities.
The horn is meticulously hand-carved and polished by a small-scale artisan community, following Maadili designs. Sourced sustainably, the horn is upcycled, reducing waste and supporting rural Ugandan cattle keepers.
Each piece is hand-carved in a Fair Trade artisan cooperative in Uganda, ensuring ethical production. The high variability of horn color means no two spoons are alike, with shades ranging from white to brown to black. For care, simply hand wash. Handmade in Uganda, the approximate size is 5" x 1".
