Handmade by skilled women artisans from the Batoro tribe in the remote mountains of Western Uganda, each basket is a testament to their craftsmanship. These artisans are part of a cooperative that empowers single mothers, widows, and marginalized women, providing them with training and additional income through basket weaving.

Constructed from all-natural, sustainably sourced raffia and banana fibers, this basket showcases a bold mix of natural and AZO-free dyes. The dyes, derived from plant materials grown in the artisans' villages, require extensive knowledge and skill to produce. The hand-dyed raffia is meticulously twisted and wrapped around banana fiber coils, creating intricate designs and sturdy structures.

A convenient hanging loop on the back allows for versatile use as wall decor or a tabletop piece. Each basket is handmade at home by the weavers, who balance their craft with household duties, dedicating several hours a day to complete these unique pieces.
