Handmade by skilled women artisans from the Batoro tribe in the rural mountains of Western Uganda, this basket is more than just a decorative item. It represents a cooperative effort that empowers single mothers, widows, and marginalized women, providing them with training and additional income. Each basket is made from all-natural, sustainably sourced raffia and banana fibers, ensuring an eco-friendly choice for your home.

The unique, bold mix of natural and AZO-free dyes used in these baskets is derived from plant materials grown in the artisans' villages. The women artisans grow, harvest, and create these natural dyes, showcasing their extensive knowledge and skill. The hand-dyed raffia is expertly twisted and wrapped around coils of banana fibers, resulting in a structure that boasts intricate designs.

No two baskets are identical, with slight variations in size and color due to their handmade nature, making each piece truly special and unique. Proudly handmade in Uganda, the approximate size of each basket is 12" x 11", offering a perfect fit for various uses in your home.
