Handcrafted by skilled women artisans from the Batoro tribe in the remote mountains of Western Uganda, each basket tells a story of empowerment and tradition. These artisans, part of a cooperative, receive training to support single mothers, widows, and marginalized women, providing them with additional income through their craft.

Crafted from all-natural, sustainably sourced raffia and banana fibers, this basket is a testament to eco-friendly artistry. The unique, bold mix of natural and AZO-free dyes, derived from plant materials grown in the artisans' villages, adds a vibrant touch. The intricate designs are achieved by twisting and wrapping hand-dyed raffia around coils of banana fibers.

A convenient hanging loop on the back allows for versatile use as wall decor or a tabletop piece. Each basket is meticulously handmade from home, with artisans dedicating several hours a day to weaving while managing other household duties. The process can take days to weeks, resulting in a truly unique piece.

No two baskets are identical, with slight variations in size and color due to their handmade nature, ensuring each one is special and unique. Handmade in Uganda, this basket measures approximately 13" x 3", offering a perfect blend of cultural heritage and contemporary design.
